Well I got me one of these things. When I took the plastic cover off the points were about 3 1/2" apart, how do you adjust them to your wood size ?
The Husqvarna timber tongs open to 12in, as it has a scissor-like linkage. There's no adjustment needed. The above videos show that. Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
If you open the tongs as wide as they go, it will measure 12 inches between the points. As Backwoods Savage said, you can pick up bigger wood than 12 inches
The Husqvarna timber tongs are like scissors. They swing open without needing to make any adjustments. Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk
What in Sam Hill are your using Bob? Your questions make me wonder. It is such a simple tool, no directions needed. Just put the tongs on the log and lift. That's all there is to it. Don't try to make this complicated.
Good grief. My eBay seller (who sent me an 8" log tongs when I purchased a 12") just refunded my credit card. He can't find a Fiskars 12" in his stock. screw it Just bought a Husqvarna 12" on eBay from a different seller with a 99.9% positive seller rating wish me luck
This is how I lift larger rounds. Stick one in each end and suddenly a 2-3' diameter round has 2 handles on it. Some wood moving tools work good for several things. For me that's the pulp hook/hooks. But for other things 1 tool stands out as hands down the single best tool for me for that job. I use pickaroons, the hand tongs , pulp hook and pike pole. All of them greatly excell at certain tasks. I've even used a Vaughn 23 ox California framing hammer to move rounds.
I finally found the problem. I had the left and right hands mixed up. Thanks for all your help and comments.
Saw that earlier today. I like Simeon, but he seemed to be trying pretty hard to be happy about that thing.
If you pay that much money for something you definitely gonna try to like it . I think that lifting tool is cool but I don't think it would work well for me at all , To long for my height
So, better to have one do it all tool, or several one use tools? What if you're using it as a timberjack, and you need it to be something else?
