Ok I guess I'll start this unless someone else did…….. So what did we all burn this winter, I'd like to get a total of cord count just for fun I hit 5 cord on the nose. I gotta say thats the most I went through since the late 90's My burning season is done, I know some of you still may have some cold evenings but I'm sure you can calculate that in…. Standing by…
I was wondering when this thread would come out this spring. I'm at 3.5 of regular cord wood and nearly 1 of shoulder wood. The shoulder wood is hard to count because of the odd sizes, it's a guesstimate. I'm a little over from last year, nearly 3/4 of a cord due to the Oslo running badly.
Hard to say exactly as I pulled some out of my regular pile when I took a load to a guy from church. 4.5 cord approx.
Just under 4.5 cords - quite a bit more than usual 2+ of that were the Sweetgums I dropped in the yard last February - the below is just about gone. The remainder of maple, pine, red oak and hickory.
I figured you and a couple others are still going Dave, I'm sure camp inspector is still at it too. Most of the Northern folks of me are still getting the cold nights. Were going to get to about 35 tonight but we just turn the little space heater on.
I went a little over 3.75 cord and if this weather report stays true it will be a little bit more. Looks like were going to have to light a fire tomorrow night for the first time in quite a while.
Still burning some did not keep great track but around 7-8 cords. Going to try a xouple changes next year and need to replace some windows.
About 2.5 cords. We had some really warm days this winter (and some cold ones too though) Usual winter I burn around 3 cords. Dave, roughly how big is your place?? I'm just curious since you burned over double what I did. I'm heating about 1400 sq/ft. Also did you get my invite for the possible cutting party this weekend?
House built in 1977 still has original windows and heating roughly 2200 square ft. Going to try a baffle for next year and was going to replace the windows unfortunately my wife and her job parted ways so that may be put in hold until some other projects that were already in the works get done. Wood not good and dry either wasted heat drying at times.
Nate, I'm at 2250 sq ft and I have a split level, house is a bit chopped up/segragated, built in 1964. My usual talley for the winter is 3 to 3.5 cord, I didn't even count my uglies and junk for the shoulder stuff, just my hard C/S/S. Jet, the baffle will do "WONDERS" in your stove, I see why you ate up some wood.
5.25, Just about done, going to have to burn the next couple-few nights. So the new stove did burn less considering how cold it was this winter. 6 was my average for a mild winter.
