I think yoops is trying to blame the odor on the wood he was splitting, instead of the pants he was splitting after pasty night.

One wood that doesn't smell good when splitting is black walnut. Red oak has its own smell, but that smell is not that bad.

It did smell like manure. It came from an area that smelled like manure. It is not meant as a demeaning comment. Rather, an observation. When we visit the area (depending on what time of year it is) you can smell manure while outside. Lots of it through that area.

I haven't smelled the manure smell from the hickory since after the first winter. I think it is getting a nice long awaited and needed breathe of U.P. air!!!

I know. There's a lot of cows in Wisconsin. It is what it is. That's also why we have all that awesome cheese and dairy.
    S'all good.:)

    VERY good!

I'm thinking that after decades of chemicals and chit and run off towards the fox, well, somethings gonna smell bad. The ground must be contaminated to heck! Just look at the clean up attempts of the fox itself.....

Are you talking east side of GB? I had a college buddy from the very rural East side, and yeah, you could smell the sulfur.

Personally, I love the smell of black walnut. I'll crush the leaves just to smell it.
    :)

    To each his/her own I guess .

That sucks! Are there any mortgage brokers close that you could work with? All the bank is going to do is turn around and sell the debt once you sign, same with a broker.

I went through a broker for my loan as they gave me a better rate than the banks I looked into.

Out of loyalty I applied at my bank that I have done business with for 25 years. They gave me an insulting approval number, nearly 50% less than the bank the next town over, and ultimately the broker gave me.

When I was a kid we got our milk from a farm down the road. Might sound funny but I don't mind the smell at all.

We went to start the dishwasher this morning and nothing happened. The unit is 18 years old so I guess we will be shopping for a new dishwasher. :makeitrain":makeitrain"

That's weird. I think walnut smells great and red oak smells not great.

Things are much different today. Years ago lots of straw was used but today that is not the case. It smells bad today; much different than it used to.

People's noses and taste buds are so different.
I don't like coffee, and I can taste paprika. Many people say that paprika is tasteless and just for color. If you can taste paprika like I can, you know it's doesn't taste good.

I always thought that when it was time to trade in your old dishwasher you picked up an at least 18 year old replacement?
