A nice pre lunch workout with a little hickory. Temporary pile, in case anyone is giving me grief:dex: 601D874E-835F-4464-A576-6EDA9E3958E7.jpeg 5CDA3B6B-CB07-499A-828A-5E0F4EA4E396.jpeg 6282DB82-5BC3-41D2-BA91-6FE518112AD1.jpeg 7CC76492-9E15-4F33-A830-2300A76DF500.jpeg 93506383-50FD-4CBC-A27B-52B21CB9C7A6.jpeg E45344B0-A1A3-4132-BB9D-056880544A26.jpeg

American CLS is the splitter. Fantastic machine, but a little pricey

Blocked up some more hickory and maple tops after lunch. Performing surgery in the first picture, cutting between the thumb and bucket teeth. No metal to metal contact. Hope you all had s good day also :dex: C056FCF0-0E35-4E9C-8A6C-A5D35937A420.jpeg 9D07E506-3174-4BF3-93FE-2BD1DE4F8CC0.jpeg D4AB3976-C9FE-41AE-AF4A-3473F88D6F92.jpeg 4C8C21F0-9737-4D43-AE0C-D9F6D27E7D64.jpeg 2C74EC5E-75C9-4A0B-8F21-A640088F0865.jpeg 358D5C19-3D58-488E-AA72-A7D5687BC0EA.jpeg 9D8D60F2-28BF-432A-89CB-2AB0DAB0A477.jpeg 19C4BA0E-89BD-4F4E-9341-0E9BAE7BFBBA.jpeg

Spoiled I would say. I have come a long way from my back lifting everything and using a bow saw

Gotta love log lifts. Just curious though, is it just a single wedge?

What's vwrong with the bow saw? I'm glad I still have a bow on our 029. Good for cutting smaller stuff.

It is a single wedge, although they will sell a slip on 4 way. The bow saw I reference is a 30 inch hand operated, no motor bow saw. Good for strong arms though. !

Check out the Wolf Ridge splitters, they seem to be well built machines, I was on the verge of getting one before getting to new 30 ton Countyline.

Wolf ridge looks like quality machinery to me. I am curious to see one in action. Are they a spin off of Timberwolf?

I went with American based on reviews here, plus I met the owner at the Boonville show twice. We bashed out a show discount and two weeks later and a few dollars lighter I was going. Prior to that I had a Lowe’s sold yard machines, which served me well for years. My new home eats a lot of wood and thevyard machines unit was too slow and could not take longer blocks.

I don't know if they are a spin off or not. I was looking at getting the compact model with custom box wedge. About $8300 including freight to GA.

Ouch. A little more than mine. How much do you split each year?

Well, that was $1000 extra for the custom work and about $500 freight.
We decided that we didn't split that much, that's why my financial advisor (wife) got the countyline for our 30th anniversary this year. I think she "nipped it in the bud" as Ol Barney Fife would say.
