Had to work yesterday so chores galore today, clean the stove and add some to the stash.
Every day I hit the back roads to get off of route 2 as it sucks bad and I notice that a Aubuchon hardware store had stacks of pellets. Most of them around here have Green Team so i thought not worth the stop but I could not tell what they were as it is quite a distance. Well here is what they had Okies.jpg

Exactly the reason I had to fight with every ounce of my body and brain not to go back and grab a second ton and screw up my recovery !

The local Aubuchon's here has both Freenies and those Oakie Plats. They want too much for them though (290) - although not the extreme prices they wanted last year.

We had a lot of wind yesterday and it took all remaining leaves off the maples and most off the oaks too. The whole lawn looked like a really thick leaf carpet. Spent a few hours late yesterday afternoon doing a pass on leaf cleanup, and finished up this morning with the rest. Today was such a gorgeous day here. Perfect blue sky, with no clouds. In the direct sun, it was very warm. Took the dogs for a long walk in the afternoon, wearing a t-shirt. Also we had a ladybug hatching, and those little buggers were everywhere.

    It's cold out - I'm back!

slacked on buying a stash this year so far. been busy. got married a few weeks ago so you can imagine..... I've been picking up 5 bags at home depot here and there in my car. have about 1/2 ton of shoulder stuff but need to get my order in for the real season soon before it's all gone.

prices are high this year. oil is still kinda cheap. i'm thinking i just idle the stove on 2 this year and let the oil pig pick up the slack. instead of my usual 3 60-bag stacks, i'm going to try 2 60 bag stacks. 120 there, and i have about 30 bags already now. on 2, i churn about a bag a day. 150 days of cold is 5 months. nov/dec/jan/feb/mar. it might be a chilly early april. :) Maybe i'll pick up a few more 5-bag shoulders in the car

also, looking at my sig- it's my 10 year anniversary of burning pellets in the pi-40. other than snap discs, it's been a pretty good unit i guess.

I’m at least 10 bags in. Burned some oil, too.

Today was nice to work outside.

Picked up some greenways today. Might go get some more later in the week.

Good thing they went on sale, looks like slim pickings for me this year. My somerset dealer said he had to raise the price this year, so those where out.
