It got up to 70 here today. Funny considering it was 28 just the other morning.

How my back yard has looked pretty much all week - and most of the last two months. I'm really tired of all the gray, rainy days. corner of fence water.jpg

Good thing is that most of the moisture that has fallen from the skies has been of the liquid variety.

I wouldn’t be opposed to to some white stuff. Ask me again in 3 months, though.

My current shear pins are 3 years old.

New Sat box arrived and was JUNK... TV picture was horrible.

    Called DTV and howled.

Thursday a 2 man crew from DTV/ATT showed up and installed a new Sat dish, all new coax, two new HD receivers and related gear.

We are definitely running with the big dogs now...

The old 50 inch plasma never looked so good, but its not the new digital hi def.

The surround works perfectly with surround on most channels now.

Put the old plasma on Craig's list this morning and within 20 minutes we got a call...fella wants to come later and take a peek see.

Hopefully it will follow him home....

During the hour it didn't rain I cleaned both stoves real quick - just a brush, clean under the burn pots and dump the ash pans. Good thing I did because the P43's pan was full. The P61a could have gone several more weeks. But then again, at this time of year the P43 runs way more than the big stove in the basement.

Got a bunch of my list done; dump run (which of course necessitates cleaning bird cages), moved the yard art windmill into the shed, started the bike and let it run a good 15 minutes to charge the battery while I moved some sheetrock and plywood back into the basement from the garage.

Then I did some stuff I hadn't planned like raking the leaves out from the stream that is runnin from my backyard to the pipe by the trailer next door. Moved some spare concrete blocks over to beside the back door steps to divert stream of water from the roof from continuing to try to create a canyon. Moved the old storm door from the side of the house to beside the back door porch so roof dumpage doesn't take it out over the winter (don't ask, I may have a project figured out for it in the next 10 years or so ;)).

Time to take a short break.

be careful picking out your new TV's Some don't come with a tuner. Keep in mind that internet tv is alive and growing every day. With a good internet connection, you can get all the tv you will ever want. the tuner is so you can get local stations. Local news is already available on the net.

I checked out their website today. Their prices are up $15-$20/ton since the beginning of the year. They're advertising MWP's @$249/ton, and Lacrete's at $299/ton. I need 2 more tons but want to wait until the first of the year. Not sure that is a good idea now.
