40s here sitting in a fog bank coming off lake.. House is 73. Do I reload stove or let house cool by morning...... If I load stove.. Girls open windows. Fog is damp.. If house gets down to 60s wife wants to snuggle.. Decisions, decisions.. I need more PINE!!
.. But Locust Post .. who I believe is a minister says, if your wife has all her clothes on you need more wood on the fire!!! In a month we will bring in sand filled kiddie pools, lawn furniture and hook up blenders and play Jimmie buffet music for a weekend.. While wearing swimsuits and bahama drinks.. Its a tradition
11 below last I checked. Poplar in the stove. I don't get to go hunting or cutting firewood tomorrow. Gotta work :-(
low 50's and rain, Using the oil FHA to bump the indoor temp up for showers. We're heading over to Maine with another couple to go to the casino. I'm not much of a gambler, more of a people watcher. But it'll be something different to do on a rainy day.
Rain again and some strong wind [ 60 mph gusts] this afternoon. Sunday should be a nice day to get the rest of my firewood inside. Enjoy your coffee guys.
I was looking for some posts about the high winds we had last year, with lots of tree damage. History repeats.
I let the fire go out yesterday evening and it’s still 71 in here this morning and 45 outside with a cold rain. I took advantage of a cold stove and cleaned the cat and screen again about 5am just for chits and giggles. Hardly anything on it but the screen was a little dirty. Just a little fly ash in the upper compartment. The wind is supposed to be up to 50-60 mph this afternoon and drop into the 30’s tonight so I’ll light it up again when it cools down some more in here, or when momma starts complaining.
Maybe this afternoon? They put up high wind warnings for this afternoon. 50-60 mph might bring some trees down.
Dreary looking morning out there, sitting at -3 C or 27 F with a bit of wind on top. Should see a couple degrees above freezing later today. While not exactly golfing weather, it is warmer than normal. With a bit of luck there's a load or two of wood to haul yet before it gets miserable.
It's 52F and raining here in north central NH. Only fire up the stove when it's at/below 40F or small fire when feeling quite damp.
