While driving today to a family members house, we stumbled upon a huge ash. We stopped and asked permission and the older woman said "take it" This is only a few miles away, so if I can get my buddy to give me a hand, (huge rounds) I hope to buck everything tomorrow and make a few trips for the rounds. If I were to estimate it, I'd say including the stump, there is a solid 4+ cords! The last pix is my wife, and she is smaller, so you can see the size of the tree!
Triple lucky - it's ash, it's fresh with no rot, four cords nearby and you have a nice lady to pose with the find. Very good catch!
Thanks for the comments! She's a great gal. I want that wood, but trying to find time tomorrow at this point is gonna get tricky. These are huge lenths. Keeping fingers crossed.
Gary- she is always a huge help. She can show up dudes more than your average gal. Chainsaw.... that is the one thing i wont allow. No need for her to be messing with a 372 schlot- lol
Yes it does, I have about 10 more ash to cut down ,a couple of larger ones and a bunch of smaller ones, I will probably do that after I get all these dam leaves picked up in the yard Love the trees, hate the falling leaves
Cut the trees down, no more leaf problems. Yep, I'm helpful just like that. Nice haul WS......well, as soon as you get it hauled. You know we expect more pics, right?
I've got a Maple right at the end of the house that leaves leaves half a foot thick this time of year. I started raking 'em up to use in the garden as mulch.
The whole west side of my yard is bordered by woods, guess where the wind coming out of the west puts all those leaves ? here in a couple of weeks when the wind blows it will be snowing leaves big time Edit Oh ya big silver maple in the front yard, woods on the east side too, but a little bit of those blow into the woods over there, and a bunch of trees at the back north side I know wa, wa, I cry about the leaves all the time
