So I'm tinkering with this closet a little today. Surprise, surprise...it isn't square....or level...at ALL. The floor falls about 1" over the span of 48". The opening is dang near 1/4" out of plumb in opposite directions on both sides. The back wall is over 1" out of square over 48".

This stupid house is a finish carpenter's nightmare....especially when you're a perfectionist with marginal skills like I am. Just have to take it slow and make the best out of this crap sandwich framing job.

They put new gravel on our road yesterday and today it is a mess. Strange too because we (the township) did not order new gravel for our road. However, no doubt they will want us to pay for it.

Describes me to a T, I drive myself up a wall sometimes. Sometimes you just can only work with what you have and make it look best you can!

Even If you have done something 1000 times it still takes way longer to do your best. It can be hard to get paid for it.

Our Maple trees are coming into nice color today...I had to enhance this pic to make it look like real life, the camera made it look so dull...even with enhancement it is not as good as real life. Wife said people have been stopping on the road out front to take pics today. IMG_20181031_162243044 (2).jpg

Our trees just started to turn, them got hammered by wind and rain last night and today. The ground sure is perty though.

A lil too warm in the house tonight. Weather warmed up a bit. Had to open the doors for a few and shut the air completely on the stove.

Skinny jeans. To be honest at first I thought you guys were talking about a snug fit like when your young and in good shape like back in the day. I have been very lucky to have never seen anything like this on a man. That's not right.

    Long post..
I had to stop in and see the principal when I dropped my little girl off at school. Apparently yesterday, some of the kids wore their costumes to school. One of them was dressed as a lumberjack. He was teasing one of Liz's friends. She was like okay country boy how many teats does a cow have? He didn't know, and said two. Apparently she told him okay city boy go back to school. It hurt his feelings..

A little background, there are no less than 6 working dairy farms within a 10 mile radius. Moreover, the principal thought this could be considered bullying. I don't think my response was what he expected.

I don't think it's bullying, he started it, she finished it! I think it's more of a sad statement on the education level of the grade school..:picard:8th grade kids.

Exactly! I tell my kids, don't start a fight but be damm sure you END it. Words are much different, I like her reply. The fact the principal got involved is sad.

This one is going to be pretty simple in design. Execution is turning into a bigger project though.

The closet is lined with cedar tongue and groove. The install job wasn't great but it isn't terrible either. I think I can make it look OK when I'm done.

If you want to dish it out then be able to take it back........maybe next time he will think twice when he is going to make fun of someone and think to himself hey they might make fun of me back and hurt my feelings....so maybe.....just maybe I should keep my mouth shut!
