    Really, I didn't know they had them like that. I gotta say that big steel plate they use in the AS and I think IS and Progress is the same... that thing looks indestructible.

    I hit the back 2 tubes in my in-laws NC30 with my SootEater just tonight...just left a "clean spot" on 'em...:thumbs:

    My house came with a Hearthstone tube stove in the basement room. The tube is completely gone. Granted, it looks like the stove was beat to death by the previous owner, but its definitely gone.

    Maybe it's just that company, I don't know, but those tubes are definitely in a spot that makes them vulnerable. I think they were an add on after the fact for many stove designs as well. Those Hearthstones are expensive stoves too,

    Yep, her setup would be top-vented and straight through the roof. There's about 5' of Class A above the roof line already, so to add any more would require support. It's also on the roof slope facing the road..with more height it will start to look like a rocket mounted on the roof. o_O

    As stated, the cat doesnt have to be glowing to be working. Ive seen mine up to 1100F and still be black.

    If it's straight up with no 90' bends I think it's fine at that height. That would be even better than my friends progress and his drafts like crazy.
