I always rake up all the scraps after I split wood and I have access to unlimited amounts of newspapers from work so i usually take newspaper whenever I start running low
I shred anything with my name on it, that is used for starting fires. I also use splitting scraps, low hanging dead branches from the back 40 or branches that have fallen. Supplemented with splitting up squaw wood into smaller pieces.
Mostly pine cones....some super cedars. I have a whole lope box full of kiln dried white oak flooring scrap for gettin things goin...
Just newspaper here. I've been saving my dryer lint but I keep forgetting to use it lol. I have a shopping bag full of it on a table next to the dryer.
Newspaper, chips from splitting, and 2 pieces of fatwood. 2 birch splits on top of that. No doubt we will have fire.
like others newspaper, scraps from splitting, and small branches that fall from my yard trees. I will occasionally make extra kindling from shorts.
Newspaper and egg carton firestarters. Small branches and cutoffs from the shop too. Popsicle sticks too.
newspaper and pine branches for kindling I tried pine cones and wasn't impressed. Have three 50 pound bags from sunflower seed full of them too.
