Man what a cool teip that would be. Get to meet you, hunt some turkey. It would be an honor to meet you, help you around the place for a few days. I have never been to that part of the country. Maybe not that far north??? I have been to southern coastal Maine for an hour or so but thats it for up anywhere north of about Virginia.
For sure that would be a nice trip for you. And to top it off, our GTG in April is usually opening weekend of turkey season too! And I can hardly believe how many birds we have this year! The count has been up and down over the years but last year and this year were banner years.
I use to work with a guy orgibal ly from Michigan, and he talked about how many birds there were up there. He still goes hunting with his brother there every year. Although he has lived in the south now longer than the north. He still lives in NC. Moved down to the south at about age 25. He is 65 now.
RIP Mr. kicker. Heard a shot in the dark from the guy that hunts a half acre a few hundred yards from my place. Shoots out of the old house at his corn pile!! My cousin let this buck walk earlier this week. He had kickers last yar that kind if disappeared this year but you see the hints of them on his G2. He was going to be a Boss next year.
That guy in photos 1 and 3 has a weird left side to his rack. Might have some right side body trauma/damage.
Hard to do any deer management when others don't buy in. As long as it was legal, I guess there is not much you can do or say.
'Heard a shot in the dark from the guy that hunts a half acre a few hundred yards from my place. Shoots out of the old house at his corn pile!!' ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sounds like this duck has a light on the corn pile?
Bingo!!! You got it right. I'm not sure if that house still has power or not. There is not a "night light" as we call them up there (street light). We're thinking flash light. Everything is legal that he is doing but the SHOOTING AT 6:38AM part!! I don't know about yall's part of the country but it is dark as hell around here at 6:38 am!! I could see at that time this morning cause of the moon, BUT it was clear as could be this morning. Yesterday it was cloudy couldn't see the sky anywhere, no moon light.
Saw a small rub today, got me thinking about my trail cam. Couldn't find the 8GB SD card, so opted for a 2GB card. Turned it on, set time, then nothing. It won't turn on, put new batteries in, still nada.
I didn't say in the original but he was only a 3.5 year old this year. We saw those pics last year at 2.5 and knew he HD to potential to be something special.
I have had this pic since this initial post but i just got around to editing out his instagram name and face.
I think you are bang on with the age. Hopefully he has passed on some genes. Good luck with the rest of your season.
Buddy came up bow hunting and set up camera, got a doe that needs put down. Right front leg looks like guy hit by a car. And ribs showing heavily in pic..
Camp next door to us ended up taking this high brow buck late in the first week. Tough hunt with wind and rain in the first week and then the crunchy snow and down to -1 F overnight this week. Deer could hear you coming from hundreds of yards. Ended up taking a small 10 pointer on Wednesday morning. Lots of tracks in the snow but one of only a very few seen. Almost all of the trail cam pics have been at night for the last few weeks....especially the bucks.
Question. Do you think this is the same deer? This picture was from late August 2015 This picture was from this week Only pictures we have of this, or these bucks
