Part of a big Beech broke off sometime this summer. Been watching for Beech as I have almost all Red Oak and have never burned it. And yes, that is a Poulan Farmhand, long story but my two Stihls are in storage right now. Poulan actually cut good with a new chain, but it also makes me appreciate my Stihl 361.
Nice solid beech score! You'll love burning beech. It dries quickly, and it burns great. It's got more btus than oak. It also smells great when burning.
Yes, that is very nice. I admire that you got the big round on the top of your stack, I am getting a little too old to muscle things that high. It sure is pretty wood!
That’s a nice looking load of great firewood! I think Beech is one of the cleanest woods too, no mess from the bark and it splits pretty good too. I have a friend that tells me Beech is his favorite wood for all those reasons. I also have a 361 and use it for everything, its a nice saw for sure... I bet your truck was squatting a little bit.
Glad you posted the pics!!! I've never burned Beech but I purchased a piece of land that has lots and lots of Beech on it, I'll try it "someday". Nice looking haul!!!
Nice load of beech! Good load for that Chevy too! We have more beech than anything locally and it sure does burn nice but it can be fun to split on occasion. I have a big wedge in the Fireview making some nice ghost flames this morning actually.

There are two rows stacked and about eight 16" rounds I just rolled up in front of the box. Truck was squatting some but handled it like a champ. May be my new favorite wood. The county is managing more for Beech in some areas which will make it more available in the coming years.
Winchester? That puts you as one of the first line of defences against invaders from Vermont and Massachusetts.
Some day, maybe, I'll give beech a try too! Until then, shagbark hickory has been my most non-native choice. (still drying)
Might have to take you up on that - I'll be wandering up to Auburn NH for work a few days each week as we approach Thanksgiving.
