Barcroftb did you ever get dawgs on your 2511? Or see if the other models fit it? I definitely want some on it mainly to keep from pushing against the front tank.
Update on the dawg or puppy I should say The 355 one fits it perfect I also just looked up the part numbers between the two saws and it matches. Echo part# C304000000 The only thing I see is that the screws on the 355 are too long DO NOT try running them in or you’ll have a leaky fuel and oil tank! They are 5x20 mm screws according to the parts manual. Especially the one that goes through the chain Cather on the 355t. (Please excuse the genius that took a couple pics in inches) This is the top screw on my 355 5/8” ~15mm lower screw through the chain catcher 3/4”~20mm Got one right...5mm dia. The holes on the 2511 are cast there but not threaded due to the wood screw/self tapping design of the screws used. The two screws to fit the 2511 are a 5x12 mm torx screw sporting the good old t27 head and are Echo part V805000240. So I guess all in all not sure why Echo hasn’t factory installed the little puppy spike, but there you have it. I’m going to place an order or call my dealer in the AM
No problem! I started to thread in one screw off the 355 into the 2511 and stopped myself to measure, sure glad I did!!!
Was at the saw shop on Friday to pick up a bar for a project for my Dad.... Got to chatting about the 2511 and filled him in on my likes/dislikes and we got on the subject of the dawgs. Next thing you know we are out in the shop in a tote full of blown up 360t saws and parts and now my saw looks like this.... Same dawg on the 360t, still had to grind the screws down though. While I was at it I lengthened the exhaust deflector down a bit since my previous mod was just starting to melt the plastic.
Any updates on anyone’s 2511? I’ve ran mine some and tried tuning it a bit tonight and can’t get it over 12,500! Manual says up to 13,300, I’d be happy with 13,000.... just wondering if she needs more hours?
Kind of a side story.... gutted the muffler and cleaned it up dressed with new fuel lines, 14” bar and chain and gave her a tuning. Not bad, nothing to crazy done and Dad is happy with his new toy! Just for comparison here’s my 330 running the same size bar and same type of chain. It’s had a bit more aggressive work done to the muffler and intake, as well as a timing advance. Almost 10 seconds quicker.
Barcroftb have you done much as far as adjusting the carb on your 2511? Tried leaning mine a bit and no change. It hovers around 12,600. I’m curious if it’s limited coil? On the other hand I turned the screw all the way in then out a handful of turns and didn’t make a change in rpm or sound. I’m Thinking something’s up or I’m missing something.
I think 12600-12700 was all I could get out of it. I suspect the carb has an aux jet. The carb on the 501 is like that. Can't lean it out beyond a certain point.
H is about 1.25 turns out and and L is about 1.5 turns out. It might go higher, but I don't have this thing broke in yet.
I’m going out to check mine shortly. I’m sure it’s got less run time than yours. It was in the 12,6 range.
