Unfortunately, theres a lot of "professional drivers" that about that skilled when it comes to backing up.

We used to camp at the state park and we always tried to get a view of the boat launch. Awesome entertainment!

Years ago, as a camp ground owner, it was absolutely amazing the number of "pros" dragging RV's down the road who couldn't back up 5' if their life depended on it. That's why drive-thru sites are in such high demand in virtually every camp ground...................... :rofl: :rofl:

A few years ago we went camping and somebody rolled in with a brand new $60K truck towing a brand new $100K trailer. They pulled up to their site and spent a good 5 minutes trying to get backed into their spot. I watched for a while then walked over and told them I'd either back it in for them or tell them which direction to turn the wheel. I ended up standing in front of the truck, walking them back drawing circles in the air so they'd know which direction to turn. That's all fine and good, nobody comes out of the womb knowing how to back a trailer, but these folks didn't even say thanks.

I used to have a trailerable 25 footer for weekends out on Buzzards Bay. But it stayed on a mooring . Dingy to get to the boat kept by the town landing and dock . Just as bad were the guys that couldn't get a boat back on a trailer.

From 42 to 46 seconds is what I look like backing a Super B when really tired!

It's only funny if you are not stuck dealing with their stupidity and a-holism.

As a boater that trailers almost all the time, I've seen it all.

I've also seen it where our crew of 5 boats can all get out of the water in on trailers and covered up in 10 minutes before an extreme t-storm hit. It takes a well trained crew to do that. Everyone has a job, and they know what to do.

I've liked to entertain the belief that what I am seeing is people learning how not to do things.

Until you see the same people do the same thing, over and over....

My mom taught us 3 boys a lot by inadvertently showing us how not to do a lot of things.:salute:

Whenever I back up a trailer I can here my father’s voice say “go very slow and take your time” it’s great advice.

I used to be dumbfounded every time I would be towing a big box truck and when I would back it into the dock the driver sitting in my passenger seat would comment that I just backed his truck up better than he can when driving it.

What is so hard about a box truck? Lol

I have said for years that there needs to be another endorsement on drivers licenses that must be behind the wheel tested for any trailer over 12 feet OAL or any recreational trailer/vehicle before you are allowed to operate or pull one. I have witnessed way too much OMG on the road with people operating things they have no clue of how to use :hair:!

Years ago we went camping with my wife's brother. He got there and we had 2 sites that shared one driveway. He arrived first and after a few tries got settled in the site that was a straight shot in. We arrived and I hopped out and assessed the situation. Then proceeded to back in around their camper and jog around a 90° bend to get into the secondary site. Brother got a really s#!++¥ look on his face when his wife said in front of everyone "How did he just back in there on one try and you had to try 3 times and unhook once to get re-hitched at a different angle!?" Burned!:MM:

I think that's one of the consequences of these "shake n bake" truck driving schools, a week or two and you're suddenly a commercial driver. My nephew got his license that way (my course long ago was 5-6 weeks) and I think they're severely lacking. I call them bullets or straight line, cause they can only go one way!
