In the same boat here also Larry - a whole bunch of end-of-season stuff left to do before it gets too cold.. and the leaves & weather ain't cooperating. :shiver::singingintherain: :picard:

Thanks much for the weather heads-up. If I need to use it this weekend - is it considered "cheating" if the white chit blower is also a leaf mulcher?

I was driving home in that - lightning directly overhead about 15 miles from the house. Rain/sleet mix started pounding down so heavy and hard you couldn't see and the noise drowned out the radio. Came down so fast the road instantly slushed up and flooded even though the temp was 46* (I looked at my dash readout). Within about 30 seconds it went down to 33*. Drove thru that cr*p for about 11 miles then the last several miles the temp rose back to 40* and the roads were just wet.

Pictures were taken on Rt 114 in Wear, NH after the initial onslaught and after it (and the traffic) had slowed down.

Done that before - not on purpose.

I need to get the blower out and change the oil!

JFYI, oil should be changed in the spring after winter use. Not good to leave used oil sitting in an engine....heavy metal and acids form sludge.

Ouch. I was shutting down all IT equipment here, lightning was striking within .5 mile, the house was shaking. Makes you feel "very small in a big world", with that kind of weather. *Don't forget B - you need to get tires on the Explorer, soon.

This summer season has been so wet here Pete, I think I'm going to run the equipment for a few minutes to warm it up, and just do a pre-season oil change on the genny and *blower here b4 Saturday. We'll see if the Stabil has worked w/ the Ethanol gas that's been sitting in there since May.. I'm hoping.

    Hey

I see your Ryobi battery saw in your sig.
I have one of these among many other Ryobi tools

It is a sweet little saw and sure will get the small jobs handled when I don't want or need to get out the gas saw.
I have a pile of the LI batteries and its so quick to grab a battery and go handle the task...

I have 2 regular sized batteries and 2 of the oversized so I always have enough battery power for my cordless tools.

    YESSSSS...LOTSA POWER

I received a kit for Christmas several years ago that had A drill, circular saw and a light.
The Ni Cad batteries were used in that time frame.
The Ni Cads finally went dead and I replaced them with the LI batteries and a new Charger.
In the years that have elapsed I have accumulated many other 18V Ryobi tools.
    Drills, saws, etc.

I picked up one of the huge kits at a pawn shop last year that had a circular saw, jig saw, sawzall, two drills and a charger as well as several batteries.

Got the entire package for $150. (ALL LIME GREEN TOOLS)

Then this past summer I found a like new early model circular saw at a garage sale.
The saw looked to have never been used...no battery or other stuff, but for $2 (yup two dollars)
So I have 3 saws now.

Can't have too many Ryobi tools...

I try to buy tool only now if I need something, but on occasion that choice is not there, so I end up with more chargers and standard batteries.

Recently bought a hedge trimmer to see if it would take care of blackberry bushes.... oh yessssss

I really like the cordless hedge trimmer. I have dewalt since i had a few of theirs and it’s best to stay in whatever brand for battery pack swapping. Ryobi is pretty good; kinda wish i started there. Lot more options it seems.

I have 3 of their cordless tools and 2 batteries. As long as I’m good about keeping them charged I can do what i need to without running out of juice.

That seems to be the only downside to battery powered tools. I always seem to forget.....until I need it. :headbang:
