Welp, I finally lit up

    I held out as long as I could. Last night we burned oil for the first time (hate that!). So tonight:

    Early last week I moved some to the basement.

    Most of these unsplit rounds are only seasoned a little over 1 year (I needed the real estate). So I plan to burn them last. I have some uglies to start with, which are very dry:

    This will last me through the weekend so I’ll get the full monte packed in there ASAP. Hope the very dry, hot environment accelerates the drying process on the rounds. I should have myself a MM. :fire:

    Watch out for ants and critters. My piles are full of them so until we get a good cool down, not much comes in the house. Nice work though!

    So, this early season has been a bit more challenging than ever. I’ve been walking around like a pirate since 10/1. Had a track day incident which left this.
    My wife is a critical care RN, so it’s being tended to. My leathers at the left knee failed at the accordion folds. A guy hit me from behind during a red flag. :headbang:

    That is a mean looking wound. However I do see some granulating tissue filling in so you look to be on the road to recovery. Something like a silver alginate works well on those wounds.

    Oh, I am an RN also. I was a medic serving in VietNam, then became an RN. Many wound care options. Took care of many wounds.
