I felt like running my saw this morning so I went to a place where the town puts wood for people to take. Luckily there was some maple there, I ran the saw a bit and enjoyed it. I got some nice straight rounds and split them with the Fiskars X27 at home. This is the8th scrounge of this size I’ve had lately and have stacked over a cord of silver maple.

I had to look up East Granby on a map, to see how far away these town wood freebies were! I would haunt that spot if I were closer. Great score, getting a cord.

Nashua, I’ve been to Hudson Speedway and Star Speedway!

Ha, I haven't! Trade you a speedway for a town wood dump.

Nice! Silver maple seasons super quick in my stacks. If left too long, it gets light. Makes great wood for day time burning before the real cold hits. I’d take all the free I could get!

The old saying is: "Little strokes fell great oaks". I guess we could add: "Scrounge for a while and you'll have a big pile"!

Good show there, Granby. It all adds up! ...where are the stack pictures, though? :D
