Good deal. Moving a splitter around by hand is a PITA, when you have an ATV, it should be easy. I don't know why all atvs don't have at least a ball hitch hole on them from the factory.
I ended up putting a longer tongue on my trailer, or had it put on i should say. I have a ball on my 4wheeler, but, with the new tongue i can lift it up pretty easy and maneuver it pretty much where ever i want to go with it. A guy i know has a tongue jack i guess you'd call it. You put it under the tongue push down on the handle, and it lifts the tongue up, allowing you to move it all around very easily. The ''jack'' has 2 wheels on it,which really helps , i've been moving mine, and hit a chunk of bark, or a piece of wood, and it almost stopped me, or almost knocked me down from the tire stopping against the bark, or piece of wood. You have to really watch it some times, it can sneak up on you.
I don't drag equipment around by hand anymore. I put a ball mount on both my tractors. Just hook & go. Much better for the back, & my splitter is real heavy on the tongue.
I bought one of those kits for my old ride on. Much better for moving it around. It's a bit too high though when it's on the ball. I have to take it off to have it level on the ground.
For me, the good thing about the high ball is when you do have to put it down, its right there for you. BUT, when you have to hook it up, its a higher lift, not sure if there's a winner here, lol. But, it looks great on the mower.
I used to have the ball in the hole where the bottom bolt for the mount is. That means I had to retract the front stand on the splitter with one hand while holding all the front weight with the other. Then bend down and put it on the ball. Same thing in reverse to take it off. Now I can leave the stand down while I pull it across the yard and just lift it off the ball and lower it a few inches to the ground. Much better this way!
