It's been warm the past couple days but should be colder tonight. High of 50 tomorrow. Started the fireplace up tonight in preparation. Busy day tomorrow.
Not too bad a day, made it to 9 C or 48 F. Got out for some wood, but it's only the second load of the year. My stomping ground got dozed, so I'm picking away on dirty push down piles. Should be able to pull 3 cord out of what isn't buried.
Day started off warm and got windy as cold front was nearing 62 degrees with 20 to 30 mph winds now it's 38 winds have calm down allot suppose to be 31 tonight we already had few light frost tonight we have a freeze watch out burning some Ash and little bit of black oak nice and toasty in here
40 F all day burning shoulder wood 24-7 for a couple weeks. Supposed to be be uper 50's tomorrow, good time to clean the FP. That's SD weather.
42 oat, and 61 in. Cold, windy, drizzly, & expected to drop into the thirties this pm. I am burning Oak & Cherry, small fire (yeah right) I'm short on shoulder season wood this year, and have a lot of dry Oak, so that is this years SS. I'll let the fire die out mid morning, with the Oak coals in the 35 yr. old Vermont Castings cast iron, the heat will be there into the evening. Depending on the inside temp, maybe re-light then, or not.
No drizzle here yet, we may not get any as the front moves past. I'm burning some pretty light mystery wood, maybe basswood. It has a sweetish smell. First sleepover at Grandma's house last night. Lots of fun, no homesickness.
26 OST 69 IST going up to 49 with full sun. Ash in the stove. After yesterday's roller coaster of weather we are looking forward for outside projects. We got our pumpkins yesterday in record time. I drove my truck right out to the patch we didn't get picky. While I paid for the pumpkins and cider my wife and girls got themselves some donuts and off we went.
And that's what it is all about about isn't it. Live, love, laugh, and enjoy these moments. They pass by so quickly as the kids grow older.
Great. Now you know how to set the thermostat on that stove! Perhaps the next time there will be even less clothing.
Let the fire go out last night as we were afraid it would get too warm for sleeping. Re-lit the fire this morning and iat is now 77 and climbing.
42 here in this morning, not supposed to break 60 with a stiff north wind. Just a little annual break in fire. Mix of gum mulberry and maple.
Currently just above freezing, and forecast for around 10 C or 48-50 F this afternoon. Might grab a truck and trailer load of wood if I can find some ambition.
