First time trying Eco Woods Blend. $234/ton. We've been lighting the stove almost every night for a week now to get the chill out! Still cant get my glass as clean as I want, but I can live with it.

Curious to hear how you make out with those Eco Woods. PD has been selling them for a few seasons now, but we never bought any. For the stove glass, have you tried the Rutland stove glass cleaner? It really works like a charm.

My stove was running well last year, and I have use it for a few mornings this year. I have seen the dampness dry and it is easier to clean. Before the first burn the inside was damp and hard to scrape the walls of the stove. Hope this helps if your need a little burn before the full fall cleaning.

The eco woods look just like the easy blaze blend I had last year. Easy blaze btus is listed at 8250, eco listed as 8000, but eco is about $30/ton cheaper. I bought them at pellets direct. Time will tell.

Mines been running on and off for about a month . Just did a quick exhaust chamber cleaning to see what things look like after a little burning .

Yes the smoke and ash get drawn up and back down into that chamber so that's really not much for ash after a month of light burning.

It depends on your stoves set up . I mean I'm pretty fuzzy I'm already checking and cleaning deep into the exhaust blower area :saw: but we'll see what our team of experts say :whistle:and don't forget it's running on low and with the Quadra Fire it's an on and off system so a fair amount of restarting cycles until it gets cold then it's running long and hot .

x3 - Did you block off the OAK or Exhaust venting @ end-of-season?

FWIW, it is truly 'shoulder season' up here, have had to make several adjustments to tune combustion air over the past few weeks to keep the Francesca running well. This warm -> cold -> wet weather has had combustion air rate varying up to +/- 100 RPM .. As it gets colder -> outside air gets 'heavier', I'll be increasing the air rate more.

I just cleaned the Harmon and did a test light. Smoke is coming out of the pipe at the first 90 behind the stove.

Guess I gotta take the pipe apart and figure out what is going on

I cover the outside exhaust vent with aluminum foil and put 2 containers of damp rid . I have to check the exhaust pipe again .

A little stove ash, a paper towel, and a little water works just as well........and virtually free.
