Spent a lot of time last fall and this summer picking up Craigslist scrounges. I think there is give or take 12-13 cords. Last year I burned around 3 cords in my stove. Now I need to move some up to the house, and build a woodshed.

Way to go. That looks pretty neat stacked along the sides of the drive.

Well done. The location of those stacks don't hinder snow removal?

    Hoard on!

Not as of yet. I have a 7 foot blade for my tractor and it has not interfered so far. I was torn because where the wood is at receives a great deal of direct sunlight and wind to boot. I suppose if there were 14 + inches of snow the wood might get in the way.

4 years supply is a good number.

    Gives you lots of options:
Need some cash . sell some. :makeitrain".
Want to take a break from CSS'ing, no problem.:seasoned:.
Get an injury that slows you down , :pain:, no wood worries.
Can be a "Wood Snob" & only take the primo stuff you want :stacker:

    +
    You
Want/need to build a wood shed,
not have to worry about CSS'ing stuff to fill it

    !!!!Good job !!!!

Mostly Ash, the dark section in the middle is cherry, there are small amounts of tulip poplar, elm, oak, persimmon as well. The smaller quantity side is almost entirely silver maple and elm.

I have a morso Panther, I think we are going to get through this winter with it and purchase a fireview. The morso puts out a lot of heat but the fire box is puny at 1.08 cubic feet. The stove struggles to have coals in the morning. Our friends have a fireview that is 15 years old and is holding up well.

Not bad for a 2nd year wood hoarder!?? You have wood all over your place! Persimmon is top shelf. :)

I live in hocking hills maybe not too far from you. Keep cutting and stacking... I think you will like a Woodstock stove.

I think my Ideal Steel is 3.5 cubic feet and I wouldn't want it much smaller... I can cut I down with no issues and rarely fill it all the way up. I have tons of coals after 12 hours.

We just got on the Woodstock train and couldn't be happier unless the Ideal Steel learned to load itself.. Until then, we'd be hard pressed to imagine a better stove. The Fireview is a very handsome stove, but a little undersized for our application - and the Progress Hybrid was ruled out as we needed a front loader. Woodstock is a real deal outfit, and you won't regret the Fireview once it comes around for you!

Great job Ohio ! I especially like the pic of your truck loaded with wood and the dog in the front seat looking out the back window.

We are close, I am in athens county. My home is only 1080 square feet and I think the fireview would be a good fit.

Well done!:salute: I like the stacks along the drive too, here that won't work, too much snow. 1100 ft should be a nice size to heat with the Fireview. I've never had a Woodstock stove, but everybody that does has only good to say.
