Only thing that would make it better is if you were stacking hickory, and the temperature was a little cooler! Hickory is my personal favorite and I still sweat when it’s in the 50’s.

I find the more Sam helps the more the stacks end up crooked, but that's okay they don't have to be pretty to season. Way to enjoy the day.

Sam is a good helper for most events. Great day to be out in it!

Took me a minute to see the owb in your signature while I wondered why your splits look like mine - friggin large. ;) That is something I will miss about running an owb; less time per round at the splitter! Now I have many splits that need shrinking before they go on the stove. Oops.

This pine was wood that I got paid to haul out. Much of it was already cut so I didn't have a lot of control in the lengths so the longer wood was split large and will be for the wood boiler while the shorter stuff will either be sold out front in my 7 year old son's wood stand or will go in our fireplace on those nights where we just want a fire in the house. Separating while stacking isn't fun but neither is stacking!

28F I'll work in a sweatshirt and soak it if I'm working hard enough.

Yep, sorting sucks. Not as much as paying for fuel, though.

You must be doing it right with your lad for him to be out front hawking wood for some walking money - that's great! I think you had posted some pictures before of the wood stand? Or was that another Great FHC Parent?
