    I've watched this one several times, I love simple machines that work! Could be improved now with some modern poly slings on the anchor tree instead of the chain so the anchor tree has a better chance of survival. Neat stuff!

    Think of what it took to clear a field. My grandparents did stuff like that. The tractor didn't arrive on the farm until the 50s.

    That is why there is generally one tree left in a field. It was the last anchor tree.
