I love this stove to death but really miss the auto light for the wife's sake. Her wielding a torch scares the crap out of me. I'm going to put 1 in and attach it to a n Intermatic 15 minute timer. As long as we remember to set the timer it should work like a charm. I'm going to get power from the power block and install a 5 amp fast blow fuse on the hot lead. Only trick is going to be drilling a hole in the cast burn pot without a drill press. Could be an expensive mishap.

You should get her a bottle of gelled alcohol, I've seen people that couldn't catch a haystack on fire with a maltov cocktail start a pellet stove with that stuff...

A bottle of cheap dollar store hand sanitizer does the same thing.

Hey Wwert, was wondering where you went.Thought about doing what you are,but too lazy.A few things, you can get all factory parts to do this, but very expensive.Template to drill ignitor hole in stove is in factory service manual, used to be installed by dealers.Replacement pots already have ignitor hole in them,as they fit the newer ones also, unless someone sells a old style leftover pot.Spring wound 15 min timer should be perfect.Bob

Hey Bob, welcome. I have it pretty well figured out and am going to use homemade parts except for the timer. My pot doesn't seem to have a dedicated hole for the igniter but the hole doesn't need to be much bigger than it already is. Seems I read somewhere that the new pot has an oblong slot rather than a round hole. Haven't had the itch to get it done yet, hopefully I will before fall. Thanks for the heads up on the jig.

Have both style pots, new one has slot but also has extra metal support above slot.Maybe to help keep from cracking?
