Neighbor had this 22”DBH hickory taken down as it was leaning over his RV parking spot.
I bucked up the big stuff and he’s having someone haul the tops off.
It was 92 again today but started early and finished before noon.

    What species of Hickory?

    Not shagbark obviously.
I have a fair amount of shagbark here.

    Leaves are very similar though.

Bitternut- thing was loaded with them.
He has a pignut over his carport man cave. We watched some football after I moved everything and dang it was like gunshots every time one hit the roof.

That's a lot of BTU's. Seems a shame to "waste" them down there in the tropics.:D Maybe send em North where it gets cold. :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:
Nice score basod ! Great to help a neighbor & get some good firewood too. Good on ya for working despite the heat, I hate cutting in those temps. Well done!!!:salute:

Don’t worry theyll go to good use in January 2022+ way the wood is piling up around here could be 4-5yr seasoned before I need it.
Just need a cooler day to get the splitter running .
I’ve got ~3cords that need split already in rounds mixture of white/red oak beech pine cherry and gum.
I’ll be on a 6 yr plan before long

I hear ya on that one. I've got about 15 cord in log length here that needs C/S/S yet too. about 20ish cord split & stacked/ready to go. Went today & cut down 3 small dead Elm trees, 1/2 cord worth & just stacked it under the boiler cover, plenty dry & saves a few steps. No complaints on having plenty of wood though.

Two big rounds on the grapple were too much.
The tires are getting balast- something I completely forgot in the purchase.

Otherwise what would take hours of back breaking work rolling them around is a matter of 20mins:tractor:

Yep, the Kubota's are light in back end when you have a loader on them. We have water in the rear tires and a 800# counterweight on the hitch, still wants to get squirrelly sometimes.
