The cost difference would only have been 300 for one less tank.... I prefer the peace of mind. Aside from that the volume that we have should last about 1 year between fills.

Ah, gotcha. I figured there was a reason they were there...just bustin your chops a bit. ;)
I am surprised you can have them right next to the house like that...I think they have to be a certain distance from the house for the LP truck to fill them around here...

More on topic...yeah the "suck factor" on that tree is rather high...

That's gonna be quite a job, definitely going to need a bucket or lift. Ash limbs aren't safe to walk out on when they're that dead, heck it'd be risky to even rig pieces out.....

But you think its doable in 1 day from a big lift?

Same rule here if they are over 110 gallons..... Sneaky way around the rule.... 4- 100 gallon tanks

That gives you more surface area than 1-500 gallon tank. If I understand it correctly, more surface area is what you need to absorb heat from the surroundings allowing for propane evaporation to keep up with demand. Makes sense the way they did it.

It'd be a stretch, but should be doable.

A big bucket truck would be the way to go on that. If you can rent one for a day, Joe and I would operate it for ya.

70 footer would be good for that job. If you get a JLG type lift, make sure it's an articulating lift.

Brace yourself, it's gonna be pricey.

Might pay you to get some quotes from local tree services, just to see where you're at.

I'm new here but I'm with some others. Hire a tree service. All they have to do is put it on the ground and then you can get high from the 2 stroke smoke... your life is worth a couple of bucks, even a grand...my $.02

Can you get a large tank? I have a 1000 gallon tank. I have to pay extra rental per year but only like $50. Talk about peace of mind. I've had a couple winters here where propane would not have made it for 2 months. Good idea having the extra gasification surface area to cover your ash....
