I had a slat on the porch with carpenter bee damage. I figured just a quick caulk of the hole. Started probing with a screwdriver and it turned out to be a 12" tunnel with a live bee at the top. I hit some black goo at the top and decided to replace the slat. Just more time and money out the window...

Entrance hole along the back. Yes, unpainted surface on the back.

Probing the hole with a screwdriver before filling it with caulk? :jaw:

Seriously though, that's an interesting home they made.

    Screech owl?

Good job on helping him out. Those critters eat a ton of mice.

Winter storm going on outside. Wind, rain, dark at 7:00 AM. Going over to Mom's today to have turkey dinner. Should be a fun ferry ride. I think it will ease up throughout the day.

I just went outside for a minute. Opened the door expecting to be greeted by nice fall air.

    Nope. 70F and humid. WTF?

Yes, you have Thanksgiving tomorrow in Canada. For us it's Columbus day, but that's a farce.

Happy Leif Erickson day on Tuesday!

Yes, it is nice to have a long weekend in October. If the weather is good, you can get outdoor projects tidied up and finished before the winter rain. If the weather is rotten, you can sit and watch baseball finals.

Well, my bud stopped by today to see where I stood on the pump issue.

Tore it all apart (again), looks like impeller seal is shot, not allowing it to build up enough pressure.

Would rather rebuild impeller section, but hard to determine through pics what kits would work.

Will likely replace the entire pump assembly.

Will still try to rebuild and/or repurpose pump and/or motor.

No sense in wasting a perfectly good 1hp motor.
