85° when we left Kentucky and 37° when we arrived in Reykjavik. So far this is the most beautiful and interesting country I've visited. The land of fire and ice!

Most homes have no water heaters because the hot water comes from thermal springs beneath the countryside. On top of that many of the streets are heated by water from the thermal springs pumped through pipes under the pavement. The homes are heated the same way. That's a good thing because, so far, I've not seen much in the way of trees for hoarding firewood.

More pictures to follow. Off to the glacier tonight to see the Northern Lights.

I'm so incredibly jealous! I wanted to go there on my honeymoon, but ended up going to Northern Maine. Couldn't convince my wife that my stepdaughter should stay with my inlaws.

    Yep, what he said.^^^

Very cool, and the flight costs phenomenally cheap.

Told Chazsbetterhalf we'll probably spend more on gas to the Ohio GTG.

    How's accommodation pricing over there?

It's a place I'd dearly love to visit sometime.

That's incredible for that distance to get tickets for $200. My tickets to Hawaii were 1k each person. Then again we upgraded to really nice seats.

I always have thought Iceland would be a very interesting place to visit. I made it my second choice to Germany when I was a foreign exchange student.

I used to know a photographer that went there with a bunch of other photog's. They rented Landrovers and made the entire trip around the country in a week. The things they captured were absolutely beautiful.

A little rain, a little snow, some ice pellets and a bit of sunshine. They say typical weather conditions for Iceland this time of year.

Took a break and went swimming in a natural hot spring pool. The temperature of which ranged between 38° and 40°c. Just before the picture was taken it poured ice pellets for 30 minutes while we enjoyed the warm water. Air temperature outside the warmth of the pool was near freezing.
