Its been pretty dry here in the PNW, but, it did sprinkle a little and i was able to start helping my grand daughter get some of her Ash tree's cut down. So, most were in the 5+ '' diameter, but, some pretty good one's at about 12''. There's a couple left to take down and 2 that are pretty close to the house. Thinking cable, pulley, just so i can really guide them to the ground and keep them away from the house. Looks like they'll both go down pretty easy. Sure opened up her property and we've got about 4 stacks of brush so far. It was a good day. More clean up this Wednesday, then, it'll all be good to go.
I might have, i'll have to look, none of them are that big, but, there ''was'' as in the past, quite a few of them. Still have a lot of brush to pile, and cover, might be able to burn it this year, if i can keep it dry long enough. And, that's where the good old stihl leaf blower come in. Give any thing enough heat, and air, it'll burn.
Glad you were able to get out. 5 inch diameter ash could be moved with come alongs right. Not too big.
The cable pulley is not a bad way to go. I have some wire cable I use all the time just for pulling down trees.
