Next time, here is an alternative way to cook those sprouts. Bake them. put them in a bowl, toss with some olive oil, salt and pepper and some crushed garlic. spread out on any baking pan and bake at 350 until tender, then crush with a fork, sprinkle with grated parmesan. return to oven until the cheese turns a little bit brown, serve hot. Frozen ones seem to do better than fresh.

First my son found a 2003 Polaris 330 Magnum. Nice size machine for my son. Auto, 4x4, reverse, winch. Good deal with a trailer. But one guy beat us to calling on it so he has first dibs. We will find out if he buys it Saturday. If he doesn’t my son is going to buy it with my help. My 14 y.o. young man has been working his tail off for his Dad, Mom, and others, to save up money for an ATV.

Second. (The one I went and looked at this morning.) He found a 2000 Yamaha Grizzly 600. 1600 miles. Auto, 4x4, reverse, winch.

Both machines are in excellent shape. Owners obviously took good care of them. I was the first guy to call him on it. I immediately asked him to look at it and we were able to set up a time before he went into work. I checked it out and it looked really nice. (Although I’m not a mechanic.) it started up with the push of a button. Seemed to purrrr like a big cat. I asked him what he had to have for it if I bought it now. He dropped the asking price by a couple hundred and I told him we would take it. Picking that one up tomorrow late afternoon.

So I’ve been waiting a long time to get a four wheeler for myself. And my son’s determination to get one has me wanting to get into one as well. My son and I are both looking for something in nice shape, reliable, and not too expensive. 1/2 way there when I pick the Grizzly up tomorrow. We will see what happens with the Magnum and if the other guy buys it we will be on the hunt for another.

This will be nice for my son and I to have something fun to do together. Besides WORK! LOL

Those 600 Grizzlys were decent machines. I'm not that familiar with Polaris...the older ones were crap compared to the Jap ATV's, but they have improved a lot...just not sure where things were at with them in 2003.
Do you have Yamaha and Polaris dealers nearby? Or at least a shop that can get parts and service them for you?

There is a Polaris dealer close by. About 7 miles. And a Yamaha dealer even closer. About 3 miles.

My 2000 Polaris Sportsman 500 developed an issue about 2 months ago. Took it in and they re-built the carb and installed a new jet. It was apparently all wrong for my elevation. Basic service and tune up at the same time. Got it home and didn't even bother with ramps, just launched it off the trailer. Whoooohooo!! different vehicle!
....and then the fuel pump crapped out. So it's back at the shop, I'll pick it up Sat. probably. But for an 18 yr. old 6 x 6, it's doing pretty good.
The guys at the service shop love it, except for the whole bad fuel pump thing. 900 lbs of fury!

Hey all, question for those with knowledge of well pumps.

We have a shallow well pump system here, and tonight it did not wanna shut off, so I check things out and when I manually shut it off, all pressure is pretty much lost. (down to ~25 psi)

Check bladder, no pressure again. I just repressurized it around 6 months ago.
There's no water coming out of bladder, which would indicate it's shot.
But then again, the bladder is at the top of the tank, so. o_O

It seems like it has a slow leak, but when I fill it I check for leaks and see no air bubbles at all.

So, tonight, again I empty tank, repressurize and it has stopped running, and seems to be holding pressure.

    Anything else I can check?
Or just come to grips with the fact that I'll be replacing that pressure tank soon?

Chaz, how often do you flush your system? Do you have filtration before or after the pressure tank?
I flush everything at least once a year, really makes a difference. After a thorough flush, check and adjust pressure on the bladder as needed.

Well, other than the toilet, I've never flushed anything other than the hot water tank after it calcified and shorted out one of the elements.

No filters anywhere in this system.

How would I flush the pressure tank?

We have fairly hard water here, and honestly I'm not that familiar with wells. I've had to learn how to troubleshoot the system over the years. This is the first place I've lived that relies on well water.

    Thanks for the input/advice.

I've got a early 2000 (2002 or 2003) Sportman 500... Brother had a Sportman 500 (2001) and SIL had a 2004 500 Sportsman... and Dad has the 350 magnum.... I've ran mine probably the hardest and its got the pop rivets to prove it... ...Hauled a few deer from places that were pretty fun to get to...Thats why they put the throttle there right? Dad uses his every year to get deer out of the fields and deer hunting chores...But I will say that the SIL Sportsman is the year that they went to non greaseable zerks I believe. ... Which I wasn't thrilled with on that machine... But the others were pretty solid...

    Good Luck Gasifier ... :handshake:

Looks good! I've been tossing my sprouts in olive oil, salt, pepper & garlic, then tossing em in the oven in a skillet until tender, tossing em repeatedly. Then put em in a bowl and put some balsamic vinegar on em.

Grey, overcast and rainy this morning. We had an unexpected week of sunshine and clear weather up until now. Walking in the rain this morning. We haven't had to wear rain gear for quite some time now. And Yeah! it's Friday.

My youngest daughter had a class trip today climbing Azure Mountain. And she wanted her Dad to tag along.
