    Ive been looking for a good deal on this stuff for years.
    Yesterday it worked out. I’ve got 3000 sq ft of the stuff. And the glue to hold it down. Ok, no use for the glue but that will be sold off along with 2000 sq ft of rubber.

    Nice. You have a use for the roll you are keeping?

    10 x 100 foot rolls. Cut it in five foot wide strips and use it for top cover on the wood stacks ;) I can’t think of anything better.

    Oh they’re coming. I have at least another ten cord not visible in this picture to process. Too wet to get any equipment in there right now. Ground is totally saturated at the moment. Still more logs to retrieve but no firm ground to put them.

    I got some of that back in 1999. It shows absolutely no wear other than dirt! The stuff is tough! Only use it on the wood pile (and one small piece for the roof of the deer blind.)

    You beat me to it. I was going to brag that I got a handful of rubber roofing scrap strips for free. They have been building a new pizza place down the street. I’ve been looking at the excess roofing hanging over the edges for a week or so. I drove by today to see that they had been cut off. I asked the owner if I could pull them off the dumpster pile. He told me no problem. It sure exactly how much I got but I’m happy about it.

    And patience pays off.
    :cool::yes:

    Maybe when you sell off what you don't need you can break even money wise, with some free stack covers.

    I'm a little less stoked about my EPDM purchase. One side is clean, but the inner side I didn't see because it was folded has some serious baked on dirt from the gravel that was on top of it when it was on the roof. A hose doesn't touch it. A scrub brush is way too laborious. I got a rotary brush for a cordless drill, and that plus Bon Ami works pretty well, but the drill batteries run out pretty quick. I'll probably do a half azzed job, and put it on the stacks dirt side up, and hope the weather takes it off. Warner, if you buy from this guy, make sure you get a crud discount.

    Sorry your less than happy with used. Maybe I should explore the idea of a group buy right here on Firewoodhoarders.
    Ya know the ol brandy new, kick the tires all you want, new rubber smell spiel ;)
    What you must be seeing is the glue that holds it down. Always wondered what that might look like on the used roofing.
    Good chance the dirt was on the original layer and a rather unscrupulous contractor went right over it with a new layer.
    I can imagine it doesn’t want to come off. Weather side up would be my choice.

    Awesome. I think you’ll like it. Good score.
    I brought home some large scraps quite a few years ago from the job site. Same as you, they left the ends of the rolls hanging over the edge. I was at the bottom waiting for the razor knives to come out.
    Before I got a chance to use them my mother scoffed them up for weed barrier in all her flower gardens or anyplace she wanted to kill vegetation. Even she doesn’t know where they are anymore,,,,or she’s not talking anyway lol
    She’s already hinted she needs more ;)

    Well,,,, I drove from Ct to NJ with a truck and trailer dealing with those early morning Manhattan commuters for this deal. I really really hate busy highways and traffic. Let’s just say your not giving me enough credit ;) :)

    In my defense, you did not mention those facts sooner.
    :eek:

    I amend my previous statement to..

    "A whole lot of patience pays off."
    :cool::yes:

    :rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:

    I can only imagine hauling a trailer around the city.

    Wow!!! I did better than I thought!!
    Never even considered how much those buckets of glue cost. Price I paid on just the rubber was so attractive I didn’t care if I gave it away for free. Even asked the seller if he wanted to sell just the rubber. His response, price is the same, take the glue or leave it.
    Internet shopping this morning have me a clue but the product is really marketed without a brand name. Couldn’t find a definitive price on a definitive product.
    Wholesaler that sells it told me go to HD and they’ll give me a price on it.
    Drum roll please,,,,,,,,
    $250 a bucket!!! Whaaaaat?

    I have no intention of asking anywhere near that but dang I was willing to leave it there for $100 off the price.
    Seems the glue costs more than the rubber it holds down. Who would of known.
    What’s the biggest chainsaw Stihl sells??

    Actually yes I do :) maybe get some more folks together if you don’t want much yourself. Make it worth it and I’ll meet you half way ;)
    FWIW if your serious it’s the thinner rubber .045. Would prefer the thicker .065 but what ya gonna do. Just throw extra splits on top.
    Also highly motivated to get rid of the glue. If you know someone,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
