Temperature not bad. Only got down to 50 overnight. 52 now but very, very wet after 2" of rain. Not bad for a forecast of a tenth to a quarter of an inch.

Currently sitting at -2 C or 28 F. A few snowflakes falling, and I'm wondering why I didn't grab a deer tag already for muzzle loader season. This weather would be perfect for hanging deer.

Winding down the evening in front of a doug fir fire listening to classic judas priest. A full day of snow fall is in store for tomorrow but nothing to crazy. The leaves are in full display but the ground isnt frozen yet which is good because I need to punch in some fence post holes in the next few.

We’re stuck in the rainy and raw lower 50’s so I kept the fire going overnight for the first time. I loaded it about 3/4 full of beech at 7 pm and had a nice active bed of coals at 5:30 and 400 on the stovetop thermometer. Stir it up, add a piece of pine and some beech and in 10 minutes we’re closed up and cruising again. It seems to like a draft setting of around .65 - .75 so far in this mild weather.

Rainy and cool for a few days. Not sure where Mohegan Lake is, but maybe some of this will be headed your way in a day or 2.

Mohegan Lake is about 1 hour northeast of New York City. We are in for the mid 70's until the middle of October after that only mother nature knows

Sure is a wonky year weather wise. Even Calgary (about 7 hours west of here) which usually has decent weather, just got snow overnight. Our 14 day forecast looks to be no better than 5 C or 41 F for highs, and about -4 C or 24 F for lows depending on the day. Wednesday night is supposed to be a few degrees colder than that though.

Still above 45F most nights. mid 60's during the day. We have had a couple of poplar fires, just to take the edge off, but we are still cooking ourselves out of the house.

Good thing though, only about 2/3 of my winter stock is in the shed....
