What pellets did you use for the challenge?

Honestly, don't remember.......I'll guess it was a combo of Greenways & Lignetics hardwood.

Every year about this time we start to see stink bugs. Loads of them today, like they are just becoming active. We have crank out windows and we find them wedged in the window frames. Anyone else seeing them, or ever see them this time of year?

I put on my work shirt the other day and there was one in the sleeve. Fastest I ever took off a shirt................................ :hair:

We've seen a few, I'd guess they are looking for warmth?? One of the kitties thinks its his job to find them for use. We've just put them back outside.

I won't be taping it this year as I have to get the rest of the planned project done and then bring in pellets. It is such a pain getting stuff done because I have to keep moveing things out of the way, filling up other areas - it would be much easier if I didn't have a basement full of stuff already :emb:

I throw stink bugs in any large spider webs i see. Keeps the locals employed and gets rid of a pest. Support your local arachnid.

Worked in the basement all day. Have precious little to show for it but most of the time was putting up some Reflectix on the adjoining wall to the one I just sheet rocked. That was so I could install a piece of metal strapping at the bottom, then the 5: Azek base. All in preparation for doing this.

First run of underlayment and OSB
1st run of plywood for floor.jpg

One cut to go around the stair post
    1st run cut for post.jpg

    2nd section of underlayment
    Underlayment.jpg

2nd run of OSB - argh I measured wrong and had them cut it too small (or them, since there are 2 pieces there).
    2nd run plywood - a little short.jpg

Will have to stop at the BBS and have them cut me one the right size. That's okay, I'll use the other piece for the smaller section between there and the other part of the basement that is already done.

Yes, those pieces of wood in the floor and wall are a PITA. I don't know what they used, but I couldn't get the wall lumber out when I was installing the rigid foam a couple of years ago. These, of course, are on top of the ones in the floor. That's okay, either a stack of pellets will be there, or I will replace the two cedar chests that were set on top of them previously (you can see them in the 1st picture).

Naturally I ran out of the underlayment with about 32 sq/ft left to cover. And that stuff isn't in-store, I have to buy it online and have them deliver. Which reminds me - better get to ordering.

You need to pm me your energy source.

Also I found one of the aforementioned stink bugs in the house. Into the web of the half dollar sized spider by the side door. Soup’s on!

Changed the oil in the mower and cyclone rake. Cleaned them up a bit and repaired a broken aluminum frame on the rake. Mowed the front yard. Wifey and I went for a short ride with another couple, wasn't to cold and nice to see leaves really starting to turn. Son and family came over late this afternoon and we needed to get hunting stuff together. Of course the sump pump had issues, the check valve was leaking. I also didn't like how much water was in the discharge pipe. Than I noticed a few yellow jackets flying around. I decided to hook up a plastic hose and run it out the casement window. Than I noticed 15 or so yellow jackets on the inside of the window. Went to the store and got some hornet spray and whacked the buggars. When son went out side to pull the hose away from the house he noticed there was a nest under the vinyl siding. So I sprayed best I could and plugged the open window so they cant get in the basement.
Now I have to dig up that old pipe after making sure the yellow jackets have moved on. Bow season starts tomorrow and I'm not ready. I wont really get excited till the 2nd week of October so its not to bad, just a lot of things to get done.

Best to spray the nest after dusk....then all the inhabitants are at home and get whacked all at once.
