Man oh man, was it cold this past few days. Highs in the 40's only with overnights in the low 30's (upper 20s in some spots)

Yeah, the NC 13 did a great job at the cottage!

Today is a heat wave, intermittent sunshine and low 50s!!!!

We're struggling to hit our high of 50, which according to the forecast will only last about 2 hours before temps start dropping. Feels cool and damp out.
I've had a few small fires, but not quite the usual. Maybe the wooly cats are right and this winter will be mild.

    I'm all for that!

Thinking of buying a new snowblower this winter....I think the John Deere is from the 90s and deserves a new owner!

Yep, I'm havin' another small fire soon. This kindling thing I did this year is really working well.
Just enough heat to take out the chill without roasting us out of the house.

Was chilly overnight (outside anyways), woke from a couch nap and it was -5 C or 23 F plus some wind. Currently sitting at 2 C or 35 F and that's our high for the day. Winter stayed an extra 5 weeks in spring, and we're seemingly in some weird system this fall where the weather is about 4 weeks ahead of itself.

It’s 50 with a chilly rainy day already starting so I got a little fire going this morning. Mrs Maina is working at home today in the office and she likes being warm. I’ll head upstairs and open a couple windows when it gets too much.

    Boilers coming up to temp!

Started with a bunch of scraps from our greenhouse build...followed by very well seasoned pine. Hardwoods up next!

It's a bit earlier than i usually start it but the wife's been kicking the heat on a bit at night...no way I'm burning propane when I've got this much wood ready to burn!
