What's up today (bullchiting) thread.

I need to get crackin on my kindling. At my factory they use 3/4" X 6" hardwood as shims on shipments to us. In the past we would have a crapload of them, but they must be tossing them now, because there was almost none last week. Need to put in a request to put them aside for me.

They split nice and easy with a hatchet.

 

Little wood score at the city dump today...they were going to grind it all up next week...but now it is all going home with us to feed dads hungry Central Boiler (except the load in the blue F250...that's mine, all mine! )

Any idea as to what kind of wood is in that pile?

Beautiful day to be outside.. Got driveway prep for winter, box bladed and the big rocks that mess up the snow blower out.. Wanted to work on wood. But, one of the girls didn't shut the freezer tight and now I have to go through and De-ice it so fridge works again

Of course Murphy says only happens cause wife went grocery shopping, got girls ice cream and midnight raids.

Just got to make it work til black Friday..

Nope, free. DIY loading. We took our skid steer in.
I got my 1 load finders fee and left... they're still hauling...have to be 8-10 loads in now.

I hate yellow jackets..

Been busy today, got a lot done, and am happy with the progress.
Spent too much time moving things either here to there, or back again.

 

Ended up at 11.5 loads...should have easily been 12, but some loads were a little overloaded.
Took about 8 hours...and I can't even guess how many split and stacked cords this will equal...10-12...more?

 

I put my splitter up in the Backwoods Savage approved vertical position for the first time today.











Then when I was done changing my oil I put it back down into its normal horizontal position.....I'm not a savage ya know!

 

Finally got it up, huh?

 

Probably be a lot stiffer in the morning, too.........................................
