I was wondering if there was any fellow Dolmar fanatics here like myself. I also wondered if any of you have experienced where the kill switch only works when it wants to.

Welcome Hatchetdancer. I've never used a Dolmar but I'm sure others here have. It's good to see another fellow PA member.

I like Dolmars. I have a 6100, 421, 3601, hopefully someday a 7900 and 9010. Never had a kill switch problem. What model is giving you issues?

I’ve only got one Dolmar as dealers are scarce here . It’s a 6400 that I put a 7910 P&C on and had Randy Evans warm up . I usually grab it before my other 70ish cc saws .

I switched from Stihl to Dolmar a few years ago. Never had any problems with them. My sig says what I have.

I haven't owned my dolkita 6421 that long, but the switch on mine works as it's supposed to. It's a slide type switch.

Love me some dolmar. Never had any trouble with my 7910. Shouldn't be too hard to track down what's going on with yours though.

I’m ashamed that I can’t remember the number on it
I know it’s a 49/50cc and that every year I smoke my cousins similarly sized Husky back at camp and then he puts his saw away. I do want a 7910 for in big wood in due time

If your switch is the same as the one on thee 6400-7910 ,then it’s the same switch that Husqvarna uses on a lot of their saws . They do tend to fail with a lot of use . I replace them with the switch out of Husq. Weedeaters that are spring loaded to the on position . The only downside is that you have to change the spade connectors ,or solder the wires . No big deal ,and it seems to be a better switch .

This is definitely a nice upgrade. Put one on my 371XP and really like it.

It was reported earlier, but it never hurts to bring it up again. I'm not sure about this, but I think CSA, Canadian Standards Association, does their own testing and may be doing USA testing too, but to different standards. CSA is considered a bit dodgy by some.
