What's up today (bullchiting) thread.

Got called in at 2:30 am again. Going to try and finish the woodshed when I get home.

 

Off work a little early, about to head out and put the splitter back to work. But first I need to get the sap reducing!

 

My son Cody just signed up for band, he's going to play drums. All you chainsaw boys should be able to recommend some good hearing protection right!?!?!

 

Ear plugs and muffs.
Even a short duration high decibel noise is harmful.
Smart isn't always popular.

That's great Sarah. Has he been playing a while or just getting into it? Closed cup stereo headphones with your fav music, will usually do the trick while he's practicing.

I drove my folks (& family) nuts when I started out banging on a snare drum, TV tray and an old banjo without the strings (for a tom). Good luck…

 

Just starting out, he'll start lessons in June...I can hardly wait

The pile in front of the garage goes to the stacks behind the garage.
One rack left to fill. 7/10th cord per rack. Almost done! Weather tomorrow is supposed to be great, get er dun !

 

Rubber practice pads were the norm years ago. They're not bad at all. Dunno what they use now.

 

foam insulation attached to the walls may help.

 

If he's playing a snare drum at home… yup, anything foam rubber/blankets on walls works to deaden the high vol crack of the snare a bit.

I could say duck tape that foam around the head for maximum effect… but I won't…

 

Helped my brother out on a job today. Nice weather! Little cool in the wind, but nice.

Did some c/s/s today. Not much, just took advantage of some sunny weather. Had to knock a few pieces out of ice with the maul. Kind of at that odd stage where I can't stack fresh wood in the wood-shed until I burn what little is left over.

 

Well a snare might be better than a set of pipes .

Funny you should say that, I was moving a pile of pressure treated lumber yesterday and the center of the pile still had ice in it. 28 deg here this morning, looking at highs of 62
