I made that mistake my first year. As soon as I started to lift those maple rounds that had been on the ground vertically I realized what a mistake I made! Never again.

    Great score Shurdel
    That looks great.

I've got to reach out to an arborist that we had do some work here.
He's been dropping many loads off to a co-worker.
Co-worker says he burnt 43 face last year, or as many would say, 14+ cord
    :faint::faint:

I keep telling him, you need a better stove.
    And some insulation.
    ;)

He bought a very old house, with a very old forced air woodstove.

I am glad that he's getting a lot of wood from the wood service, he needs it badly.
But, he doesn't need it all, right.
    ;)

Get in touch with one. The guy that I got this from says he pitches up probably 10 cords a week. Either grinds it or takes it to the mulch plant. I have to get to work on getting this cut up so I can get some more.

Sounds like you have a sweet honey hole! Do they dump it on your property?

    I work in Hanover.

Yeah that is. That is pretty big stuff too. You'll get a lot of nice splits out of that pile.

I have most of the pile bucked and quatered. I'm thinking about having a buddy run one otwe through his saw mill to have some boards for woodworking. I've never done that but i think i'd like to try it.

If you have enough firewood, and there's nice straight logs lying there, why not?

Gives you something to experiment with, at hopefully little or no cost.

    Just
Just make sure you sticker stack that lumber, top cover with some weight preferably, and let it dry.
