Expecting wind gusts to 47 mph today and falling temperatures. I like the falling temps but not the wind.

Also today I will be bringing some wood to the porch as we expect to have our first fire of the season tomorrow. It's been quite some time since I've put wood on that porch and will seem good.

Here is a picture from last winter. Notice the lack of snow. And no doubt brenndatomu will comment on how my wife is dressed. Normal for her.

Due to the heavy drought and heat here this summer, the corn crop is the pitts. Ears the size of baby cukes, price flat, alot of the locals are grinding it for silage feed. We've got 4 farms yet to do and the phone is ringing steady. We are BUSY,BUSY..........BUSY.

Most of the beans have been taken out of the fields here. They picked the cornfield next to my yard yesterday. I'd say 50% of the corn is in the bin around here.

We had a window this spring where it was very warm and very dry for a couple weeks and a lot of fields got planted a few weeks earlier than usual. I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing they are engineering the crops to have a quicker maturity date so they can pick them before the rains start in the fall. NOBODY around here picked corn in September 20 years ago.

Happened to me TWICE in the past few weeks. I had rounds up on the racks and well lets just say I completely over stacked them :headbang: I just didn't have any place to put em and wanted them off the ground. Good to go now they have all be split and stacked properly :dex:

All you east of here, look out for the coming band of weather.

I am fairly sure that my trees will have no nuts after this one.

I was out working in my yard yesterday, doing a little cleanup. Decided to grab the moisture meter and a larger split from the stack out front. MUCH higher than I hoped it would be at 24%

Way too wet and humid this summer. I need to get to building my wood shed asap.

Major tornado damage in Ottawa and Gatineau. We missed the real heavy stuff here about 4 this afternoon, but the wind is still howling here right now even though the skies are cleared up. Gas, you look to be right in the coming line of fire.................................

    Glad you guys are fine.

It was quite hairy here for about 15-20 minutes or so, with some trees bent over I don't know how they didn't snap.
