Decided to Head back and grab another load today. Nice weather, nice wood, why not.
They’re actually dropping trees half a mile from my house but they’re whacking them up in oddball pieces.
Can’t have them fall on a car going by.
Where I’m grabbing it from there’s so little traffic they just dropped the whole tree. I cut em to length and it’s much easier to load and you get more on. I’ll take that.

    Hey jo191145,

I had noticed you referenced the Hartford area in another post and saw in your profile you are in CT. I’m just south of Hartford.

A buddy of mine told me they are dropping trees like crazy in the Haddam area. Are you near there? Good to meet you.

Wow, that is a hoarders dream there. Easy to get to and someone else fell them.

Pleased to meet you also. These are coming from just south of Hartford. Marlborough. Ogden Lord Rd to be exact. Better hurry over. My helper (sister) (absent today) is getting a kick out of this free wood on the side of the road thing :)
She’s got hoarder blood in her somewhere.
    Going back in the morning.
Too funny, just had a message from her asking if we can go in the morning LOL
It surely is a hoarders paradise over here right now. Tree warden said they dropped 80 trees on that one road. Personally I’m just grabbing the logs. The trailer makes it so easy there’s no need to buck up small stuff. Other hoarders are chipping away at that but there’s still a ton of tops there. It’s a real target rich environment.
    Come on down!!

Wow. That’s awesome. Are you loading those with a winch? I guess you must be. I’m currently working on a load of sugar maple here in town. But thanks for the address. I have to got to Glastonbury Saturday morning. Maybe I’ll have to take the little trailer and grab what I can.

    Went back today,,,,,with the helper.
One problem with having a helper is occasionally each person thinks the other performed a specific task.
For example. I thought my sister, seeing as she was the one using the button, had wound up the cable and stored it in the battery box. Nope, drove away to move spots and ran over the cable with the trailer.
Have you ever tried to repair lightweight electric cable with a hatchet? :) :) It was that or go home. Thought I did a pretty good job splicing and then using some of the outer skin to push the connections into. It worked. Now I know where the term hatchet job came from.

Wow that's amazing! Great you have room for it. Going to teach your helper how to run the splitter?

The wood I'm looking at in your pics > a minor wiring job. Wow at those pics man.

I know where there's a couple cords of oak rounds that you can split, if that vacation remains unaccounted for.
