That has to be really nice, but not those wash-outs.

We’re half that distance in the opposite direction and we’re in the same boat. Have been most of the summer. Florence just passed by this morning and we were on the very northern edge and got less than half an inch.:headbang:
I do pity anyone who got dumped on by Florence though. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We can take a drought better than what they’re going through right now.

My SIL and husband are stuck in the Cleveland area, because the roads to her house in Southport NC., remain flooded, washed out, and impassable.

They drove to Cleveland for a weekend wedding.

They are but two of many, many people that remain impacted from the floods due to Florence.

Have they had any word if their house is flooded? I hope Cleveland family are putting them up.

They are staying with friends, and they gave been told that their house, is "intact" from someone that did a drive by.

There's been no way to determine if there's any water damage existing .

4yr old house. They built their retirement home. Beautiful place.

Hopefully the water will be down by then! You'll be leaving snow and heading to rain.

While I'd not be surprised, the end of November is a little early for us to get snow. Further north in Me, Vt, and Nh, more likely.

I'm in winter prep mode. I have a lot to do before it gets cold, and I have a funny feeling that it will be an early winter.

You might be right. Seems to me like the shoulder seasons have been either quite short or almost nonexistent a few times over the past several years, like the spring we never had this year.
Long range forecasts are predicting a cold snowy winter in the northeast.

    I guess we’ll see who’s right when it’s done.
I’m with you on the winter prep mode. Gotta get that all done before I tackle anything else.

I know. I just saw the first mention of foliage season on the news this morning and we’re just beginning to see a few little patches of color. It seems awfully late, but I haven’t been up in the White mountains in the last couple weeks to see what’s going on there. My brother thinks we’re not going to have much of a leaf peeping season at all this year. As far as tourism goes, the places up here had a record summer and now they have no help so they might not miss it too much.
