I'm surprised you aren't all over Mike's MS200. I know I'd love to try one if I had the spare change sittin' around.
Sell them all Get a new M362 M-tronic or 562xp with a 16" & 24/25" bar Getting something new is a good thing.
But then once he uses it it'll be used. Does he then sell it again??? But then he won't have enough cash to buy another new one... He'll have to buy used and instead of three saws he'll only be able buy 2 without adding more cash. Wouldn't it just be easier to pick one to sell and keep the rest?
Tempting, but the problem is that there's room in the budget for broken saws that I can conceivably repair and resell at a modest profit, but not so much for shiny new things that depreciate. If I sell them all, the cash gets sucked into the household budget. With older saws sitting on the shelf, their value solidly in the black compared to what I paid, it's easier to pretend there's not real money tied up in them. And they're all excellent machines -- well-designed and made, effective, fun to use, easy to maintain, free of worry. Besides, novelty is so short-lived. If anyone is genuinely interested in the 361, feel free to PM me. Given all the advice in this thread, my grip on it is loosening.
I'm with you. Id rather fix up a used saw and use it or buy a used one and run it for years and then get most my money back or if it blows I got my monies worth. I'm not a shine saw guy. There nice but one dat there not whitney anymore and was it worth all the cash you lost in depreciation... to some yes, to me NO.
You can read it, as you type it? Doesn't everyone read what they write? It's not that funny, because it doesn't make sense to us. Only You Know What it means.
Can't you proof read? That's what everyone else does. Edit timer is for people who read the post when they post it. Not hours later. If it was turned off, then someone who wanted to "Leave" the site, could erase all their material. That would not only erase entire threads, but if they provided valuable material to that thread, then it would no longer make sense in a search. Read as you type, or read your post after you post it. We have asked several times. It's no longer funny.
Its no big deal not having a new saw to me either. Except for splurging on that pole saw in June 2012 (I figure it paid for itself within weeks not having to deal with future doctor visits/shoulder pain from continued use of that old manual pole saw),the last "new" saw I bought was in March 2000.
Find me a new in the box w/ paperwork mid 70's Stihl 090,& a couple others so I can take out a 2nd mortage on the house & I'll be set.
