Got into the 600 acres and cut up a maple that fell across a logging road which leads to a great deer stand. I forgot it fell several months ago. I got rounds cut on the section that was blocking the path. Another bonus is there are two blow-downs within eyesight of this, so there is a plenty to get. My Husky was doing some good work tonight.
I have a 60 acre farm with 600 acres which borders it. The owner has given me hunting and wood scavenging access. My brother helps with some mowing and occasional excavating work for the privilege. It is a managed tree farm. They are going to be timber harvesting soon, so opening the trails shows we are helping maintain things. The other tract which borders me is about 1200 acres. In this County, that is highly unusual. That property was harvested last month, leaving me a nice cut off pile of wood to cut up. Life is good when the equipment is all working.
