Got out Saturday before it go too hot and finished off a couple more ricks (closest). Drank what seemed to be a gallon of water and still didn't have to pee.
Were rain from Florence to overlap rain from Gordon, a mere several inches of rain this weekend could be enough to initiate stream and river flooding. Some streams and rivers in parts of the Northeast are at major flood stage as of Monday morning following two or more days of steady rain. Up to 8 inches of rain have fallen on parts of Pennsylvania this past weekend, on top of what has been the wettest summer on record for a number of locations in the mid-Atlantic states. All the above is from AccuWeather, that's a chit load of rain in PA.
I heard already n I really don't know if its true or not....anyhow....that seattle,wa is one of the most wettest cities in the lower 48 n also....one highest suicide rates. I'm startin to feel the depression.......
To cure this go take a look at your firewood hoard and think of the better days to come with a nice calming glow coming from your firebox
I'm sure they would, it's been the driest summer in our area that I can ever remember but nothing like California. Stay Safe
Worked till about 1:00 today, it's still HOT in GA. Mid 90's, humidity about 53-58%...HI about 105...glad for some shade and fans. Finished up a few rounds of red and white oak we had cut, then pulled out the last 4 big red oak logs in that stack and got them bucked up. Had to use my big tongs on them...sap is a little punky in spots, but the heart is solid and pretty. Probably SS them in the morning.
It sure is. Mighty ugly on the outside, but red on the inside. Be glad when it's dry. Logs have been cut about 18 months.
We worked till 1:00 PM today and got all but 2 of those big rounds split. Got a few quarters left to resplit, but the rest is stacked for drying.
This was some cherry and ash from the clearing that went on for our new garage. I started on the west side of the pile on some cherry, after that was finished I moved to the east side of the pile bucking up some cherry and then the ash. I have some left but that will get finished this week.
