sad to admit. Not watching tv and being busy in my own world this is the first year 9-11 slipped by without me being aware of the anniversary. So I’ll post this which is what I stumbled upon to remind me. <iframe src="" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe> <p><a href="">9-11 Sounds of Silence Tribute (Disturbed)</a> from <a href="Cris Piaseinsa">Cris Piaseinsa</a> on <a href="Vimeo: Watch, upload, and share HD and 4K videos with no ads">Vimeo</a>.</p>J
Always remember and never forget. I Was with one of my favorite of NYC's Bravest today (22 years on the job) helping me do some painting in my house. He lost a lot of Comrads that day. Can't believe it's been 17 years. God bless America.
One thing I remember, you could look up and you would not see any planes, no sign of there vapor trails. It was so spooky to me.
I can relate. At that time I was working at a building just miles from Ct’s Largest airport. Something we take not much notice of on a daily basis seemed so strange when it stopped.
Sad and not forgotten in our lives. My kids report every year that their teachers at school talk about 9/11, which makes me proud. They will never understand the gravity of it like those who saw it when it happened. I still have newspapers from the following days that I look at occasionally. I'll go on youtube to re-watch clips. It is still hard to comprehend it all and many heroes, alive or deceased were made that day. Patriotism was at an all time high. Never forget.
I started teaching the year it happened, and as a social studies teacher, have been talking about it every year since. The weirdest thing to me now is that almost all my students weren’t even born yet. And being that I’m in CT, I have had on some occasions had students who lost family members or friends of the family that have been lost. Over the years we have moved on from some of those very difficult conversations to students who have never heard of Osama bin Laden or Al-Qaeda. Have discussed 9/11 three times today; one left to go. Thank you for sharing and reliving it in my mind is never easy. I will never forget what I was doing or where I was when it happened. What I will remember the most as many of have already stated was the patriotism and unification of our country. No matter what color you where or what side of the fence you voted for we were ONE & UNITED! How quickly this country forgets!!!!
