G.....we shrink wrap all of our "refurbished" boxes here....I use the term "reburbish" very loosely. The shrink wrap gives our customers the perception they are getting a new box when in reality they aren't refurbished and they sure as hell aren't new either.

:doh:found a washer I want to buy. Have 10% Lowes code. They cannot get one for 2 weeks. Spent an hour on the phone with an absent minded Home Depot gal that said they could match my 10% coupon ( OMG I must have given her my address and phone number 10 times so she could start over) only to hear she will NOT match the Lowes coupon, with an extra $50 delivery fee for here, higher tax for whatever reason, and $50 more expensive extended warranty.

Skip the warranty, big waste of money. When the unit breaks, just buy a new one. Like you are doing now...

I hear ya G. We have AtlanticBB too. Not at all happy with them. Keep raising our prices, without adding any value for the extra charge. They are on borrowed time with us. Will be switching to something else before long.

Over the years we have had several different cable companies.. Currently, Atlantic.
And now another is being allowed to come in, Comcast, which may be ok, as now there will be two cable outfits.
I'm trying Amazon Fire, and Chromecast now... thinking of maybe Sling with those, and dumping cable.
that would be $25 instead of $110 for just Value Basic!

... I am beginning to think that the cable companies promises and service, are all full of:

I did the copper flashing thing when I replaced the back steps with a deck a few years ago the flashing required copper nails and leather gloves to install.

I got the warranty, I got a collective one when I put in my new kitchen. I've used it 4 times with excellent results. One machine replaced, three repair cost. More than paid back the cost of the warranty.

You’re very, very lucky. Never had a warranty that paid itself off here. Tried to use one to get the last washer repaired, and it was a total circus...never again.

I am liking YouTube TV (Google). I still have Directv but when a great promo I enjoy ends in December, I’m contemplating dropping DTV.

I ended up ordering the washing machine from Lowe's, guess we'll get creative for clean duds for a couple weeks until it's delivered. I did buy the extended warranty, I used a square trade on my old laptop and a dryer in the past and was pleased, but seems ST is different now, think it merged or was bought by another company, anyway I bought the Lowes flavor extended warranty. I'm going for the lifting laundry out of the top loader tub instead of bending over to get it out of the front loader tub. I've had front loaders since 2003, so I'm really hoping this is easier for me, just hate bending over to get the wet load out from the front loaders and theres always some small things like a sock or whatever in the way back. Fingers crossed that this works better for me, and either way I'll have the family back in clean duds:)

Ive used a Lowes warranty to have them buy back a just under 5 year old fridge a few months ago. They sent me a check for the original cost plus another check for 250 for spoiled food. My honey used Lowes warranty on a dishwasher where they refunded her money as well.

It seems like Lowes stands behind their warranty.

Ive been lucky until this past visit. In 2009, I got a new in the box DVR, last year I got a new in the box modem. This week, I got what was thrown into the back of the truck. Not even wrapped.

Is it a coincidence that the one time I am screwed is the only time it was a sub contractor that traveled a distance to NH for the service call?
