Sister in law is building a house and needed some locust trees cleared. I've never burnt locust before but I know it sits well on the BTU chart. Picture is of my first load. Probably have at least 2 more. ........I think I need a bigger truck Black locust is good burning right??
One of most sought after firewood for most.....has a little stinky smell to some when burning...like said....very good btu's
Thanks guys. Found a mint 1995 f250 on CL with the 7.3. Thought about buying that and selling my 150. All for the sake of firewood
How much wood do you typically burn a season? That's a great load of great locust logs. In a couple of years it will be awesome firewood.
What little black locust I come across has my customers almost fighting over it. Burns long and hot. Seasons pretty quickly too. Is hard on chains though but also splits easy.
Despite what the others say, black locust is terrible firewood. I would be willing to let you dump it off at my place just to get rid of it.
