Its tempting to do the same here but we'll wait! Remnants of Gordon then Florence will make landfall! Gotta clean both chimneys here still!
We usually start burning on Sept. 15 but with all the shoulder season wood we have, the sooner we get rid of this seasons shoulder season wood the better off we are for opening up an area for stacking. The fire had pine with some smaller cherry in it, the temp in the basement went from 68 to 78 and the dog is loving it. I'll get another fire going before I call it a night.
50 here, low dewpoint. Nice to spend a few hours outside nibbling at my red oak pile, without the sweat in my glasses. Rain tomorrow, looks to be a soggy few days when I'm up in the White mtns.
We had 39 this morning so we had a small fire over coffee. It looks like we'll be getting around 1.75 inches of rain tomorrow. I see certain parts PA is getting hit with some pretty good rains again. Since we had the new garage put in, a drain for the gutter on that side runs at the garage but the water never reaches it. It's all sand there so today I'll dig it up with a shovel (not sure how deep I buried it) and move it over so it doesn't run towards the garage. We also decided that since it will be a warm week, we'll put off on putting in any wood until we need it.
We are now at 3 inches since last evening.....this stuff is really gettin OLD N DEPRESSING. Its either raining or super d@mn hot n humid....bull chit!!!!

Got some more wood CSS yesterday. The temp. was 49* and went up to 65* a great wood cutting day! Stack at beginning. Stack at end of day. A very enjoyable day. Would have posted last night but fell asleep at the keyboard.
