Seems to run somewhere between red maple and ash up here. That's white, or paper birch. Yellow and black birch, different story. Black especially throws some monster heat. Heck of a score! Seems most of the birch around here doesn't make it too far past 6-8" before snapping off or just giving it up and rotting on the stump.

Good work, I’ve run in to so little white birch in my scroungings that’s it’s made me view it as super valuable. I had about 2 stove loads of last year and decided Christmas morning was a good time to burn it.
